The role of dive team member will place the successful candidate at the heart of a busy team to allow for sustainability of guest educational experiences with an emphasis on spreading a strong conservational message. This dive team member will allow for expansion of these exciting experiences in order for more opportunity to be offered to members of the public and thus harbour a stronger fight for the underwater world against the ongoing risks it faces.

Job Role

  • Dealing with customer enquiries and booking participants by using an autonomous and comprehensive online booking system.
  • Supervise dive and snorkelling experiences as per the guidance set forth by HSE Diving at Work regulations and in house codes of practice.
  • Assist in the flow of participants in their respective groups throughout the day to enhance guest satisfaction and ensure the day runs smoothly.
  • Maintain a level of paperwork for both financial and health & safety documentation either in tangible or digital form.
  • Support any project plans being handed down with supervision from the Dive Officer and support staff.
  • Participate in regional/national sales events such as dive shows/conferences at the discretion of the Dive Officer and support staff.

The dive team at Skegness Aquarium form a compact and fluid operation to spread key educational points to the mass public in the form of the Shark Snorkelling Ranger and Shark Educational Dive experiences.

Located on the top floor of Skegness Aquarium, this team have the Coral Ocean Display, a 350,000litre system, and the Lost Lagoon to call their office with all manner of sharks, rays and tropical fish to watch over as participants are guided around these displays.

The fun doesn’t stop there! There is also lots of customer relations, health and safety practice and project supervision to look forward to. This is all controlled by the onsite Dive Officer and support staff.

What’s Included!

  • Full in-house training to allow the candidate to successfully assist in water and eventually lead the Shark Snorkelling Ranger Experiences.
  • Dive training up to the level of try dive instructor, or equivalent, based on the current sponsored training agency. If the candidate does not have this already.
  • The candidate will be in a position to learn from the bottom up on how to successfully organise, operate and run a nationally recognised experience-based dive centre.
  • Gain hands on experience at the grassroots to influence a positive growth within a dwindling industry hit heavily by the global pandemic of 2020-21.
